I was asked to provide a
painting of flowers to grace a spring showing in Bridgewater. Since
there are not many about at this season, I went back to my somewhat
slim file of loral photos including one of a hanging basket of fuschias
seen last summer on my mother-in-law's back verandha.
I am always a bit leery of undertaking anything this complex where a
fairly comprehensive underlying sketch is needed. I don't attempt to
draw every aobservable petal, stigma and stamen, but some fairly
well-observed outlines are needed, where a figure study or landscape
might be more forgiving.
